St. Clair County Rollover Kills 37-Year-Old Man

Authorities reported that the crash happened around 7:24 p.m. in the area of Kilgore Road, north of Imlay City Road. Emergency responders from the Kenockee Township Fire Department and deputies with the sheriff’s office were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of a rollover accident.

Investigators determined that the 37-year-old man was driving a Chevrolet Silverado northbound on Kilgore Road when the truck left the roadway, entered a ditch, and overturned. During the rollover, the driver was ejected from the vehicle. First responders provided emergency care before transporting him to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Weather and Road Conditions Under Investigation

According to the sheriff’s office, the road was subject to snowy and icy conditions at the time of the crash. Winter weather can significantly reduce traction and vehicle control, particularly on rural roads with limited lighting and narrow shoulders. These conditions often increase the risk of rollovers, even for experienced drivers.

Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding speed, seatbelt use, or other potential contributing factors. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine exactly what led to the fatal crash.

Compensation That May Be Available to the Victim’s Family

Tragic rollover accidents like this often leave families facing not only emotional loss but also serious financial challenges. In fatal crash cases, surviving family members may be entitled to pursue compensation for funeral and burial expenses, medical bills incurred before death, and the loss of the victim’s income and future earning capacity. Families may also seek damages for loss of companionship, guidance, and emotional support.

In some cases, compensation may also address the pain and suffering the victim experienced before passing, depending on the circumstances and applicable Michigan law. Identifying all potential sources of recovery is critical to protecting a family’s financial future.
