Fatal pedestrian accidents often leave families facing sudden emotional devastation along with unexpected financial stress. Beyond the immediate grief, surviving loved ones are frequently confronted with medical bills, funeral and burial costs, and the loss of income or household support the victim provided. In Michigan, families of pedestrians killed due to another party’s negligence may be entitled to pursue wrongful death compensation. This can include coverage for funeral and burial expenses, medical costs incurred before death, loss of financial support, loss of companionship, and emotional suffering experienced by surviving family members.
