Troopers stated that the pickup struck both men who were engaged in the fight in the roadway. Emergency responders were immediately dispatched to the scene, and both injured men were transported to Henry Ford Hospital for treatment.
Despite life-saving efforts, the 22-year-old Concord man later died at the hospital due to the severe injuries he sustained in the crash. The 24-year-old Parma man was treated for injuries that were described as non-life-threatening and is expected to recover.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the incident. Authorities also confirmed that the Michigan State Police were assisted at the scene by the Concord Fire Department, Spring Arbor Fire Department, and Jackson Community Ambulance Service.
