According to authorities, the accident was reported around 5:40 p.m. near Gravity Auto Sales on Gratiot Avenue, close to 10 Mile Road. Emergency crews from the Eastpointe Fire Department, EMS, and the Eastpointe Police Department responded to the scene after receiving reports of a serious workplace injury involving a car transport trailer. First responders remained in the area for several hours as they secured the scene and began an investigation into what led to the fatal accident.
Investigators say the victim, identified as a 55-year-old man from Missouri, was the owner and delivery driver of the truck transporting the vehicles.
