30-year-old Woman Killed In Sterling Heights Semi-truck Crash

30-year-old woman killed in Sterling Heights semi-truck crash

A 30-year-old woman was killed in a Sterling Heights semi-truck crash late Saturday night after her Chevrolet Malibu collided with a stopped semi near Mound Road and South Sterling Drive. According to authorities, first responders arrived at around 11:45 p.m., but despite their rapid efforts, the woman—who was from Warren—tragically succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Early findings from investigators indicate that the woman was traveling northbound on Mound Road when her vehicle struck the rear of a semi-truck that was stopped at a red light. The truck driver was not injured. Police continue to examine what led up to the collision and whether additional factors such as road conditions, speed, or visibility played a role.

Compensation Available to Victims and Their Families

In a devastating crash like this, surviving family members may be entitled to several forms of compensation that can help ease the financial strain that follows an unexpected loss. Potential damages may include funeral and burial expenses, loss of financial support, loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and compensation for any medical treatment provided before the victim’s passing.

When a commercial vehicle such as a semi-truck is involved, additional layers of liability may apply, including claims against the trucking company, its insurance carrier, or other parties responsible for vehicle maintenance or driver oversight.
