2-Year-Old Girl Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Detroit

A 2-year-old girl fatally struck by a vehicle in Detroit has died from her injuries after what police are calling a heartbreaking family accident. According to Detroit Police Captain Derrick Griffin, the young child was initially being held by an older sibling when she suddenly got down and ran into the street. At that exact moment, her father—unaware that she had run off—was beginning to drive the family vehicle.

Tragically, the girl was struck by the car. First responders arrived swiftly and transported her to the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, where she was initially listed in critical condition. Despite the efforts of medical staff, she sadly succumbed to her injuries.
