Pontiac Man, 24, Killed in Dixie Highway Rollover Crash [INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, MI]
A 24-year-old Pontiac man died in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 30, 2026, after losing control of his vehicle on Dixie Highway in Independence Township, Oakland County. The story was reported by ClickOnDetroit Local 4 News today, citing the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
According to investigators, the crash occurred around 2:01 a.m. south of Maybee Road. Jeffrey Euceda-Cruz was driving southbound when he lost control of the vehicle. The car crossed into the northbound lanes, struck a curb, and rolled over, ejecting Euceda-Cruz. Deputies and Independence Township firefighters responded and attempted to provide aid, but Euceda-Cruz was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and believe excessive speed was a factor. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating.
