Man Killed in Hit-and-Run at Plymouth and Evergreen; $5,000 Reward Offered [DETROIT, MI]

Detroit Police are asking the public for help identifying the driver who struck and killed a man in his 30s in a hit-and-run on Detroit’s west side on August 11, 2026. According to the Detroit Police Department, the crash occurred around 9:35 p.m. in the area of Plymouth and Evergreen Roads. The driver of a Chevrolet Equinox struck the pedestrian and fled without stopping. Surveillance footage released by police shows the vehicle returning to the crash site after the initial collision, at which point the driver and a passenger exited the vehicle, observed the victim, and then got back into the Equinox and left.

The crash remains under investigation, and police are asking anyone with information that could help identify the driver to come forward. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that helps advance the investigation.
