Driver Missing After Fiery Crash Near 25 Mile and New Haven Roads [Chesterfield Township]

Chesterfield Township police are asking the public for help locating a 32-year-old man who walked away from a crash that left his vehicle fully engulfed in flames Monday night, June 8, 2026. Investigators believe the man may be severely injured. The story was reported by ClickOnDetroit Local 4 News today, June 9, 2026, citing the Chesterfield Township Department of Public Safety.

According to police, a 911 call came in from a motorist on I-94 reporting a vehicle on fire in a field near 25 Mile Road and New Haven Road. Officers arrived around 11:05 p.m. to find a crashed SUV fully engulfed in flames. A trail of blood leading northeast from the vehicle indicated the driver had left the scene on foot. The Chesterfield Township Fire Department extinguished the fire. Officers, along with the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit, conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area but were unable to locate the driver. As of the time of publication, his whereabouts remain unknown and police are requesting any information from the public that may help locate him.
